Running & Recovery
Weav – weav is an app that matches music’s tempo to your run. It will adjust a songs tempo to match your running pace and change with you. How cool is that! LINK
Eat2Run – Check out Holistic Sports Sarah Cuff. Her website and cookbook both offer awesome and easy recipes and if you’re looking for more tailored one on one work she offers that as well. LINK
Little Bird Sleep Consulting – one of our best recovery hacks and one that is often pushed aside. Check out Amber of Little Bird Sleep Consulting for tips on creating a routine that works for you and learning to recover more effectively. LINK
Packs/ Hydration – having a proper hydration back is key to keeping your body hydrated but also balanced. Think of holding between 1-3 lbs between your phone, music, water bottle always in the same arm. Over time your arm swing changes and this can lead to imbalances and injuries. Invest in a proper pack or belt, you won’t regret it LINK
Footwear – I strongly suggest always getting fitted by a professional. If you’re looking for some shoes that will help with chronic low back pain many of my patients who run longer distances or spend long days on their feet (nurses, teachers etc.) seem to do well in Hoka’s. LINK
Hydration – Nuun is my go to and first suggestion for anyone suffering from electrolyte imbalances and hydration challenges when running. Their tablets pop into any bottle and are easy on most people’s stomach. LINK
Uberlube – If you’ve ever gotten into the shower after a run and felt your skin on fire, you’ve experienced chaffing. Uberlube is a great way to prevent chaffing anywhere on your body LINK
